El pasado viernes 9 de junio se inauguró el Pabellón de Historia Natural, situado frente al Edificio Científico Técnico V de la Universidad de Almería.
Al acto asistieron autoridades y empresarios locales, entre los que destacó la presencia de José María Rossell Recasens, fundador y presidente de Senator Hotels & Resorts. Fue en representación del parque temático Oasys MiniHollywood y Aquarium Costa de Almería, los cuales han contribuido en la consecución de este espacio a través de la cesión de recursos y de fondos desde hace muchos años.
El museo será un espacio vivo que acogerá numerosas actividades de divulgación y talleres escolares, así como conferencias y exposiciones itinerantes para conseguir una divulgación científica y educativa para toda la sociedad.
Con este Pabellón de Historia Natural se pretende llegar a ser un referente no solo cultural para la comunidad universitaria y la sociedad almeriense, sino también un referente turístico para toda la provincia.
La planta baja cuenta con espacio para exposiciones flexibles, que también le permitirá convertirse en laboratorios didácticos con fines educativos. Hoy por hoy cuenta con 1.500 ejemplares expuestos de fauna, flora y minerales.
Actualmente este espacio está centrado en los recursos medioambientales naturales de la provincia de Almería. Con una zona exterior con distintas especies vegetales, tanto en suelo como en altura, y trepadoras que permitirán la anidación de aves y favorecerán la biodiversidad de la zona. En un futuro las exposiciones se irán ampliando hacia otros lugares de la Península o del mundo para conocer los distintos ecosistemas contemporáneos.
Oasys MiniHollywood ha apoyado desde el principio este proyecto, colaborando estrechamente tanto con la Universidad de Almería como con la CECOUAL, persiguiendo la divulgación científica y la Conservación de las Especies y el Medioambiente.
The University of Almeria inaugurates a Natural History Pavilion
Last Friday 9th June was the inauguration of the Natural History Pavilion, located opposite the Technical Scientific Building V of the University of Almeria.
The event was attended by local authorities and businessmen, including José María Rossell Recasens, founder and president of Senator Hotels & Resorts. He was representing Oasys MiniHollywood theme park and Aquarium Costa de Almería, which have contributed to the achievement of this space through the transfer of resources and funds for many years.
The museum will be a living space that will host numerous outreach activities and school workshops, as well as conferences and travelling exhibitions to achieve a scientific and educational dissemination for the whole society.
The Natural History Pavilion aims to become not only a cultural reference for the university community and Almeria’s society, but also a tourist reference for the whole province.
The ground floor has space for flexible exhibitions, which can also be converted into teaching laboratories for educational purposes. It currently has 1.500 specimens of fauna, flora and minerals on display.
This space is currently focused on the natural environmental resources of the province of Almeria. With an outdoor area with different plant species, both on the ground and in height, and climbers that will allow the nesting of birds and promote biodiversity in the area. In the future, the exhibitions will be extended to other parts of the Peninsula or the world to learn about the different contemporary ecosystems.
Oasys MiniHollywood has supported this project from the beginning, working closely with both the University of Almeria and CECOUAL, pursuing scientific dissemination and the Conservation of Species and the Environment.
